Regional Values

In 2008, Maurice founded a pioneering regional values survey and movement in association with the international Barrett Values Centre and the North West Regional Development Agency (NWDA).

The pioneering values survey was conducted in early 2009, and findings were incorporated into the NWDA’s emerging strategic policy. The overall North West Initiative will potentially make a difference to the region across every subsection of the economy and the community.

The initiative has attracted interest from a cross section of private, public and third sector organisations.

Maurice is a founder member of the National Values Assessment Coalition and presented at the inaugural international conference held in Stockholm in May 2009. He is now working closely with Patrick Hoverstadt, author of the Fractal Organisation, founder of SCiO, visiting research fellow at Cranfield and visiting lecturer at Manchester Business School. Dr Monica Sharma, a former long serving Director of the UN and winner of the 2009 Spirit of the UN award, has played a key advocacy role for Maurice in this project since 2008.

To build on the inspirational ideas, directions, advice and support already prevalent in the region, it is planned for Dr Sharma to hold a one-day masterclass in September 2010.

The key elements being designed are:

  • Working with results-generating individuals, boards and governments in the context of current global complexity
  • Practically shaping and generating results
  • Promoting the continuum of values and principles, strategic and systemic shifts and results, as part of a “Consciousness Full-spectrum Approach”.
